The foundations of a crystal grid begin with laying out a series of stones with a specific purpose, whether for communication, healing, financial abundance, or any other number of purposes.
Once your initial stone, or series of stones, have been chosen you’ll want to add stones to amplify the energy. Amplifiers are typically quartz formations, such as Clear Quartz points or Metamorphosis Quartz. When choosing the Quartz to use, you also need to decide if you’re sending light in all directions, as with a Quartz cluster or if you need to direct the Quartz into a specific area.
If you were creating a crystal grid for communication, you’ll likely choose a Sunstone, Covellite, or Larimar, and then choose a Quartz to amplify that energy outwards. On the other hand, if you were looking to contain the energy to a specific space, for example in a healing session, you would set White Apophyllite points at the corners of the specific space and add double-terminated Quartz on each line in between.
Benefits of using Crystal Grids in your life and your practice
The great thing about crystal grids is that they’re not overly complicated. You’re able to look at the stones you already have and start playing with them to see how they change your environment. If you don’t like what they’re doing, you merely need to change the stones you’re using the next day.
Another benefit of crystal grids is that they’re relatively self-contained. You can create one on a small dessert plate or across the palm of your hand.
Finally, crystal grids are relatively durable. You can leave them in place for an entire season if you like what it is providing for you and it’ll keep providing those benefits as long as it’s in place.
No matter how you set up your crystal grid, as long as you have clarity of intention you can create the grid you need on the first try. If you don’t have clarity, you simply need to play with the stones a few times until you’re drawing in what you’re looking for. Each stone has a specific frequency and holistically, we work with them for the skills that the stone’s frequency provides.
Can Crystal Grids be used to improve physical health, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth?
Yes, absolutely. Following my knee surgery, I had a grid of anti-inflammatory stones both under my bed, and where I’d sit during the day to help bring down not only the inflammation, but the physical pain as well.
Other ways you can use crystals include:
- Thunder Bay Amethyst, combined with amplifiers, around your technology to ameliorate EMFs so you’re not exhausted by technology.
- Citrine clusters work really well for memory for those suffering from Alzheimers or dementia
- Angelite or Celestite for use in meditation or astral travel to help make that connection in a way that’s easier and more fully understandable.
Crystal Grids vs Crystal Gridding
People will talk about crystal grids and crystal gridding, using the terms interchangeably but they’re not the same thing.
If I place a series of stones with a purpose — this is a physical crystal grid that I can leave in place.
If I’m working on a person and I’m drawing lines of light, two dimensionally, three dimensionally, or in multilayer gridding, I’m moving that stone through the person’s field and/or directly on them and this is known as crystal gridding.
Using a Crystal Grid in your practice
Placing a crystal grid is found in many crystal healing modalities. When using a crystal grid, you’re creating an action of placement followed by stillness. You’re setting the stones and letting their frequencies work on the energies that you’re trying to bring into balance.
These stones can be placed on an altar, under a massage table, at a trade show booth, or even at their work station.
At the end of the day, crystal grids can be used in many different ways — you simply need to take some time to think about what it is that you’re looking for and then craft your grid accordingly.
Using Crystal Gridding in your healing practice
When you do crystal gridding, it’s a much more active process. In moving the stones through a person’s field you’re infusing all layers of the body and energetic field with specific healing properties. These healing properties not only help during the session, but over the next several days following the healing session.
During the healing session, while using crystal gridding, it’s like you’re playing tic-tac-toe on a person, drawing lines of light throughout their field. You need to pay attention to the direction, angle, and repeatable patterns when drawing the lines of light on a person’s field.
The type of stone you use matters too. For example:
- Orange Calcite hearts can be used for emotional balancing
- Vogel crystal wands fill the body with light impacting the person physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually
- Aquamarine is used when creating space for change
- Moonstone helps with hydrating the body and how it processes the liquids that it receives
Clients often come to me post surgery and I use a stone of light with them, whether Vogel crystal wand, Apophyllite, or another form of white light. The stones of light are able to penetrate not only the physical cuts in the body, but through the fields as well, helping with wounds that don’t want to heal through modern medicine alone.
Examples of Different Crystal Grids
Below are three different examples of crystal grids for focus, ease anxiety, and love to give you some ideas on different layouts of the crystals and stone placements.
Start using Crystal Grids in your day to day life
Now that you have a general understanding of crystal grids, crystal gridding, and how they can benefit you, I encourage you to start playing. Whether you’re looking to create a calming environment, help bring about changes, or even to set an intention for yourself, crystal grids are a great tool that we should all use in our day-to-day lives.
Start off small by creating a crystal grid with a stone that you own. Add a Quartz as your amplifier and keep a journal writing down the emotions and feelings that you get from that crystal grid. As you become more comfortable and familiar with the process, start experimenting with different stones and configurations.
